Ewan makes it a family affair
It was a family affair when crofter Ewan Mackinnon was inducted as an elder of the Church of Scotland at Heylipol Kirk in the presence of the congregation earlier this month.
The induction ceremony was carried out by Ewan’s older brother Charles, a Church of Scotland minister, after his other brother, Iain, had read the morning scripture from the Bible. Ewan, whose late father was also an elder in the church on Tiree, was the sixth local member of the church to become an elder recently.
Charles, who was home from the mainland to conduct the ceremony, said it was a ” special day ” for the family and for the church on Tiree.
